1. What is Bunjang?

Bunjang is one of Korea’s largest secondhand marketplaces, and by far the dominant platform for K-pop photocards, albums, and collectible goods. You’ll also find webtoon merchandise, anime goods, game items, character goods, and limited event exclusives — the kind of items that never appear on regular retail sites.

Other Korean platforms exist (Joonggonara, Daangn, Fruitsfamily), but for goods and collectibles, Bunjang has the largest inventory. If you’re hunting for rare photocards, lucky draw specials, fan sign exclusives, or limited edition drops, Bunjang is the first place to look.

Auto-Translation Accuracy

Global Bunjang auto-translates Korean listings — but inconsistently. Item condition, included contents, photocard options, and special inclusions are frequently mistranslated. For secondhand items especially, the original Korean description matters. When in doubt, ask us to check before purchasing.

3. What to Know Before Purchasing

Bunjang is a C2C (person-to-person) platform. Every seller sets their own rules. It does not work like a regular online store where you simply pay and wait for a parcel.

“Message Me First” — Why It’s So Common

Many listings say “DM before buying,” “no direct purchase,” or “message first.” Buying without contacting the seller first will often result in cancellation — not because the item sold out, but because the seller requires prior confirmation. Some listings also bundle multiple items under one post, meaning the listed price may not apply to the specific item or option you want.

Buying Request Posts

Some posts are wanted ads, not sales listings — e.g., “Looking for OO photocard.” These cannot be purchased. We’ll flag these if we spot them.

Safe Payment Refusal = Order Cannot Proceed

Some sellers prefer payment outside Bunjang’s platform (bank transfer, open chat, SNS). Our service can only process transactions through Bunjang’s official Safe Payment system. If a seller refuses Safe Payment, we cannot proceed.

Expect Slower Timelines

Bunjang sellers are individuals. Some respond in minutes; others take days. When prior messaging is required, purchasing waits on the seller’s reply. Shipping is also at the seller’s pace — same-day is possible, but so is post-weekend dispatch. This is normal for C2C.

Bunjang sellers use three domestic shipping types. Only standard courier is compatible with proxy purchasing.

If a seller only offers half-price courier or semi-registered mail, we’ll let you know — the order may not be processable.

6. Secondhand Item Precautions

Condition Standards

Condition grading varies by seller. An item described as “good condition” may still have minor scratches, corner wear on photocards, slight creasing, or storage marks — this is standard for secondhand goods and may not qualify as a return reason. If condition is critical, request additional photos from us before purchasing.

Inclusions and Special Contents

Only what is explicitly listed in the seller’s post is included. Do not assume photocards, inserts, limited inclusions, packaging boxes, or event exclusives are included unless clearly stated. Always check the listing photos and description — or ask us to confirm.

Counterfeit Risk

Bunjang does not verify item authenticity. Counterfeit luxury goods, high-value photocards, and replica limited goods do circulate on the platform. Our proxy service purchases and ships on your behalf — we do not authenticate items. If authenticity is critical, purchase from official retailers or verified sellers only.

Returns and Refunds

Bunjang’s Safe Payment lets buyers review an item before confirming the purchase. Once purchase is confirmed, returns and refunds become very difficult. Please inspect your item promptly and notify us before confirming if there is an issue.

8. Why Is There a Proxy Fee for Bunjang?

Unlike regular stores where you add to cart and check out, Bunjang requires hands-on work for each order: confirming availability, messaging the seller, verifying item condition and contents, confirming correct pricing, checking Safe Payment eligibility, and waiting for seller responses. Our fee covers all of this on your behalf.

Because Korean Bunjang prices are typically lower than Global Bunjang (which adds its own exchange rate markup), purchasing through our service — even with the fee — is often cheaper than buying directly on Global Bunjang.
